This lawsuit is for anyone who acquired securities in Sunnova Energy International, Inc. (NYSE: NOVA) from February 25, 2020 through December 7, 2023.

The lawsuit alleges that the Company and certain of its executives violated federal law. Specifically, the lawsuit alleges that, throughout the time period mentioned above, the Company misled investors regarding its financial condition. More specifically, the lawsuit alleges that the Company misled investors by routinely engaging in predatory business practices to sell solar panels to disadvantaged homeowners through loans secured by the U.S. Department of Energy through a government program called “Project Hestia.” Project Hestia was designed to protect disadvantaged homeowners.

On November 22, 2023, the Washington Free Beacon reported that several consumer complaints had been brought against Sunnova regarding issues ranging from maintenance delays to “scamming” and using predatory sales tactics against elderly homeowners. Then, on December 8, 2023, members of the U.S. House Committee on Energy and Commerce and the U.S. Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources sent a letter to the U.S. Department of Energy and Sunnova seeking information following the release of “disturbing” reports regarding Sunnova’s allegedly predatory business practices. On this news, the price of the Company’s stock dropped precipitously on unusually heavy trading volume.
